I'm applying to Harvard as a transfer, and I'm curious as to how Harvard handles transfer of credits and GPA. Do transfer GPAs carry over, or would I have to start over from scratch? Also, do most course credits transfer over? B/c this is a big worry of mine.

Your gpa starts from scratch, and depending on where you transfer from, credits may or may not count. I believe Harvard does not like CC credits.

CC credits meaning?

community college

Yep. CC = community college like Cghen stated above.

I have like 60 (45 semester hours) quarter credits....none can be used. Crazy but true. Other schools do that as well. Some say it is just a definitional thing. If I had graduated then took classes they would count at some colleges. I wish I had known that before I made my life crazy. BTW, my state colleges and universities, as well as the privates will take all of it.

Oh well. You win some and the others kinda bite. :)
IB

I'm not in a CC, so I guess that's one worry I've managed to avoid. lol.

And did you get into Harvard? That must've sucked bigtime to have lost so many credits. :(
