Harvard Transfer (wannabes) Unite

Or has your acceptance to G-town made an early decision from Harvard no longer necessary?

I would think so, given that the deadline to deposit at Georgetown is June 15th.

bnx, Shag said that she withdrew all her applications with the exception of H after getting into G.

Guys!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! Guess wot, the interview process isn't over- I just got a call from a Harvard alum who said the adcom asked that she interview me- on the one hand I'm like woohoo on the other hand I'm like aaaaaaaaaaargh! what if I suck! What if she doesn't like what she sees- Obviously I'm prolly a border line candidate and they'll tosss me aside if she hates me- what shud I wear, what shud I say, advice???!!! Help!!!!

It seems like HArvard did many more interviews this year than last...or maybe it's just that people are using c.c. more and more with recent press coverage...or maybe both things are true? I don't know...If it is a result of the first case: that H. is doing more transfer interviews, then it makes me question my initial interpretation of the function of the Harvard transfer interview...but what can we do.... I guess we'll find out soon enough...

Bumpity: I felt exactly the same! I was sort of even hoping that I wouldn't be asked and that I would just be selected for admission based on my application alone. In truth, my fears were really pointless, as it is a really easy process. Harvard is interested in you, they like your application. You just gotta make them like you in person (well, make your alum like you in person). I think, for the most part, it's really rare for one to have a "bad" interview.

You should be thrilled about getting an interview! Just act natural.

I'm trying to be optimistic- thanks bnx86-I'm soooooooooooo nervous!!!!!

Haha, milk it for all its worth, bumpity. Good luck.

thanks! now for what to wear....formal, casual, formal-casual??? ok..I'll shut up, I'll just go and do my best and wait for my thin envelope---...

I wore nice jeans, heels, and an oxford collar shirt to my college interviews. Casual isn't right for this, but you don't have to go all out and get a suit.

ok now, u guys have to hyper scream for me- barely an hour after I got a ffone call from a harvard alum for an interview, I just got an e-mail from someone in harvard asking if I took macroeconomics with micro-economics this semester- Unfortunately, I didn't and I'm so upset I didn't- I'm wondering shud I offer to send my grades to them, since there's so much tension about my app, I mean why all these questions and contacts?
I'm so confused! My g.pa last semseter was a 3.92 but then this semester, it dropped to a 3.88 because I got an A- in a microeconomics class and an industrial organization class-
haven't responded to the e-mail yet...shud I offer to have my school send my transcript- i feel like I'm at a disadvantage for not taking macro-!!!! aaaaaaarg! this sucks so much!

Wow... they're definitely paying a lot of attention to your application, bumpitybump. Could definitely be a good thing; congratulations, maybe...?

but I didn't take macro!

Just be honest and tell them that you didn't. If you have some excuse like 'scheduling issues', that'd be cool too. Offering to send your grades is never a bad thing. EDITED BELOW.

but considering that my g.p.a dropped a bit...Guess I'll send it-

Well, that's a good point. If your GPA dropped and they haven't asked you for your grades, might be best to not send it, actually. But a 3.92 to a 3.88 isn't a huge change.

crap! this is so scary!!! the person who contacted me's name is robin m. worth- I just googled her up and what's coming up is that a certain "robin worth" (whatever happened to the M" is the assistant dean of students- okay so send my grrades, not send my grades- I've never been this tense in my whole entire life!

she was also the director of international admissions and I'm international! If I blow this, I'll kill myself!

In this case, I retract what I said earlier. If they do not ask for your grades, do not send them. Instead, provide a good reason as to why you did not take that class this term.

I told them my faculty advisor advised me to take micro bfore macro- good enough?

Yeah, I think that's a good response.
