oh okay thanks!
I’m seeing the admitted students thing and the wl yes/wl no thing. Do you guys see the word “strong” sprinkled in a bunch?
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
As I have said earlier in this thread, there are likely no tea leaves to be read. In trying to find a back door to decisions, I would posit you will fail far more often than you succeed. And really guys, it’s bad enough that you are admitting to poking around the source code, but don’t be posting it here.
Not for Harvard in particular, but in general for coding, I believe strong refers to, like, bolded type, not a strong applicant or something lol @Bella2018
ahh okay, that makes sense! I’m not a computer scientist for sure.
@skieurope I really swear I was a completely normal person before college decisions (:
Yeah I honestly think it might be best if the speculation conversation somehow just deleted itself so we could try to regain a bit of sanity @Bella2018
Let’s move on from this speculation lol. New Q: what schools have you guys gotten in so far?
I’ve gotten into some safeties, USC, UCLA, UCSD, and UCSB
I honestly have no clue how I have made it through 10 schools so far with no rejection even though waitlists are pretty much that (knocks on wood just in case). Can’t wait till Wednesday to change that though!
I thought the comma was a colon for a second and I was like uhh I’m not sure all of those are safeties LOL @ttg1125
I’ve been lucky enough to get into UWashington, St. Olaf, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, and UCLA so far! With some great scholarships too!
On Wednesday I’m going to surround myself with those acceptance packets to remind myself that there are schools that want me out there, and that I am worthy no matter what Harvard decides
Ive gotten into Cornell, Northwestern, Hopkins, Williams, Georgia Tech, Northeastern, and Stony. Rejected from MIT so far
Are you a Cali resident? It seems like there’s so many on these forums @MyDogsNameIsFat
@writergirl0316 Haha yes I am, was it all the UCs that gave it away? It’s both a blessing and a curse. Great state university system, but also lots of competition. I’d really love to go OOS but it’s nice to know that I have some solid options close to home too.
This is a repeat post but because we are discussing it here too I just have to respond.
@writergirl0316 @anxiouswreck @skieurope It is a misconception to think of looking at the HTML source code as cheating or something that is bad. It is published publically and meant to be read. Lazy coding that leaves public trails SHOULD be called out and corrected. Again looking at the HTML source code IS NOT hacking and is not morally or technically wrong IT IS MADE PUBLIC for the purpose of READING, some people choose to read it with a browser and some with their own eyes.
Beyond all the Ivies, I’ve only applied to Stanford and Umich. Been accepted by Umich thankfully.
@Bella2018 I’m pretty sure that just refers to bold elements.
@“Maschinenmädchen” I did not say anything about that here, but thanks for re-clarifying
@anxiouswreck Sorry, lol. Lazy cutting and pasting got me in trouble again, lol.
