Harvard University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

Closer to 65.

Make no such assumptions. Some members change with every admissions cycle.

@skieurope Have you heard about Harvard “ranking” candidates for interviews?

@asaltyattic No

My interview letter was submitted Oct. 31st so that fills me with confidence, however useless it may seem.

How long does it usually take them to upload the interview letters?

@Noahdutch Does it show in the portal when the interview letter has been uploaded?

@skieurope have you heard of interviewers finding out if their interviewees were accepted before decisions are officially announced?

There are 15,000 interviewers. I highly highly doubt that admissions break the rules to inform an interviewer (who, remember, is a volunteer) before the applicant. Officially, the interviewers find out the day after decisions are released.

@skieurope By when are the selective interviews (in countries where hardly one candidate is interviewed per year and the interviewed one ends up getting admitted) usually conducted? And if one submits all financial aid documents by November 15, will he get a Financial Aid decision by December 12? (The priority deadline is November 1 for financial aid documents)

Hello, everyone!

I am an international student and I have applied EA to Harvard this fall. I have sent my application in late September, and I haven’t got an interview yet.

Do you know if there is a deadline for receiving interviews as international applicants?
Also, are all the interviews sent in the same for students in the same area?

Thanks a lot and good luck to you all!

@jswani Yes, mine is under the additional documents tab.

@nekanorneki hey just curious, where are you from?

So I had my interview yesterday, and my interviewer said something about a rolling process now… does that mean that the decisions won’t come out all together? I have been looking for a decision release date, but everything says “by mid-December” so that really makes me think that they are doing some sort of rolling admissions now… what have y’all heard?

All decisions will come out on the same date. The interviewer either misspoke or you misunderstood.

@skieurope didnt Fitzsimmons say that they may likely review Early Action candidates into January due to the natural disasters that happened? @bluey118 Decisions are expected to be released Dec. 12th @ 5PM according to the Crimson.

just wanted to let y’all know that I was contacted for an interview yesterday. Idaho continues to surprise me.

@crimsondream22 I’m from the Indian Subcontinent.

You’re right, I stand corrected. Although it is my opinion that applications from non-affected areas will be released on time and simultaneously. My further guess is that they will still release all decisions mid-December. But at this point, it’s wait-and-see, I guess.

OMG. So it doesnt appear like my counselor has sent in my transcript after I asked her about it, but Harvard says they have it according to my applicant portal. Should I have her call them tomorrow to see what’s going on?? Im so furious with her.

@MaybeHarvard2022 According to my counselor, all they have to do is upload it once to the CommonApp and then all the schools you are applying to through the CommonApp will have access to your transcript. You don’t have to send it individually to every school, but idk your situation.
