@FishMan4212 Where exactly do you find if they uploaded something internally? I know it’s on the portal, but is it just in the same area where they list the uploads like “10/30/2018 03:00 PM - Miscellaneous” ?

Hi everyone! Checked my portal and saw an upload that I didn’t recognize. It was Academic Work and submitted at 3 in the morning. Checked with my interviewer and it wasn’t from him. Should I be worried?
@savethebees292 it is probably your gc uploading your grades, I had the same thing
They only update I see to my file is the research paper I uploaded a few weeks ago. I wouldnt think Harvard would allow applicants to see when someone was accessing their file, other than uploading documents like test scores, grades, supplemental work, etc…, but what do I know.
I don’t have my mid-year grades yet but I did just recently get my quarter grades. Are we supposed to have our guidance counselor update those? Are these grades required for SCEA applicants? I don’t want to knock myself out for something stupid. Thanks!
@Fearthebull21 the quarter one grades are not required but sometimes AOs request it and other times schools automatically send them. Other than that I think if are happy with your quarter one grades and you want them to be sent you can just ask your gc to update them but they are not required only the midyear report is. Good luck and don’t stress!
Is anyone willing to email/call to the admissions office and ask them about the mysterious uploads to the admissions portal? For all we know it could be a random glitch.
@savethebees292 @foolgirl and anyone else that had something uploaded that wasn’t from them, was the thing uploaded always “academic work” or was it considered “miscellaneous” ?
Mine was academic work. And I have emailed admissions to ask.
@x2019x My school reports our final grades with a weighted GPA, but quarter grades are reported as unweighted. I ended up this quarter with a 4.3 unweighted GPA which I’m ok with. My overall GPA in HS is a 4.64, so I guess I’ll just have my guidance counselor submit this last quarter’s grades. I don’t think my grades will be the final deciding factor of whether I get into Harvard.
Can someone shed a little light? Is it just reading tea leaves about people getting uploads in their portal or being asked for first quarter grades? Because I haven’t heard anything at all and I’m starting to worry bad news is heading my way.

Wait, are other people having mysterious uploaded documents too? I discovered two random “Academic Work” docs uploaded in the middle of the month. I’m on the West Coast so the Admissions Office is usually only open when I’m still asleep or in school, so I didn’t get a chance to call about it until this past Friday. I called and the person I got in touch with was NOT knowledgeable and could not seem to figure out what the documents were. I would really like to know though before decisions come out. I want to know what supposed documents are potentially impacting the decision made about me. I think I’ll email them with that online submission form on Monday, but unfortunately I tried using that once earlier this fall, and never got a reply, so I’m not sure it’s the best way to get in touch with them. I’ve found they’re significantly more difficult to contact than other schools, which I’m sure is by design, but still, very annoying.
@Euclid314 Did you or any of the other people who have talked about this issue send in additional transcripts by any chance? I mailed in two but it was incredibly unclear on the phone the other day if that’s what the uploaded documents were. However, if there’s a pattern of students who sent in additional transcripts having mysterious uploaded documents, I would guess that it’s that.
I also received a mysterious document upload but I’m assuming that it is my updated transcript, although it was uploaded at 2:45am which is kinda weird lol
@drumminggeek87 No, I sent two additional updates. One was a research abstract and the other was an update about big awards I had won after the application.
But I agree with you. If your counselors are sending your grades/mailing updated transcripts, then the mysterious upload to the admissions portal has to be the updated transcripts, because everything that is submitted after the deadline has to go through the admissions portal.

@Euclid314 oh yes she submitted my Quarter 1 grades but that was prior to the date shown on the portal. Could the date shown on the portal just be when it was processed or it being filed?
