Meanwhile our release date hasn’t even been announced haha
Do you think they will release the date tomorrow or continue to keep us in the dark?
Let’s go see how the Stanford applicants feel now In my area last year, EDs were all legacies.
@qwerty66 no he did not say
Anyone know how the release pattern usually falls or is there any rhyme or reason to it? Meaning is Harvard typically between Princeton and Yale or are they usually first? Or does it vary?
@skieurope ^^
A bunch of rejected at Stanford, plus a few unexpected admit
Hi!
I think that it will actually be released either the 10th or the 11th. According to this article from last year’s applicants, their decisions were released on Monday and then the Crimson posted the article that Wednesday. I believe it will be similar on either Monday or Tuesday, but Thursday seems far too late for them, based on previous years results.

I posted this a little while before, but here are Harvard’s past decision release days again:
Dec 12th, 2017 @7pm ET (2nd Tuesday of Dec) (the Crimson was actually incorrect here)
Dec 13th, 2016 @5pm ET (2nd Tuesday of Dec)
Dec 10th, 2015 @5pm ET (2nd Thursday of Dec)
Dec 11th, 2014 (2nd Thursday of Dec)
Dec 13th, 2013 (2nd Friday of Dec)
I found the dates by looking at the time/dates of when friends posted congratulations on Facebook for admitted students, which were usually posted by several friends within 30 minutes from the release times, so these are accurate.
If you think the wait is killing some of you waiting until next week just think of the poor kids that applied to UF. Other than RA nobody gets their decision until February! Now that’s a wait!
Looking at the postings from those rejected by Stanford, there appeared to be a common trace among them, no matter how many hooks they had: they were not taking enough challenges in their course work. Many did not take enough APs that were offered at their schools, or were not seeking college credits when their schools didn’t offer much.
Any intl. students applying from Africa or Latin America?
Funny thing we discovered last year. The Admissions office accidentally made their full admissions cycle calendar public with decision dates and other info denoted by letters that made no sense to us. Unfortunately they took it down lol.
Are there quotas for cities?
@lugdunensis I think there are quotas for regions/dockets but not specifically cities.
@worldwide1 Yeah I’m applying from Africa and the UK
@isicim012 I think you can apply or from Africa or from UK. You are applicant from those country were is your High school
@Dataminer I already got direct and clear answer from skieurope that no any quotas and for cities, and for regions. Though it still not clear for me how exactly this system work. As I got at intermediate stage you will be in competition with applicants from your region. What after that I don’t know.
@Alezzz I’ve lived in Nigeria all my life but I go to boarding school in the UK. So my permanent address is in Nigeria.
lol @MaybeHarvard2022 I saw that in last years thread and was trying to find it
