Hello,

Can anybody tell me what I should do when listed in waiting list? Another review process?

Hello,

Can anybody tell me what I should do when listed in waiting list? Another review process?

Thanks.

Yeah, my brother’s waitlisted too. He was also an early applicant. All I can say is that you should just cross your fingers, hope for the best, and be content with your current options for now.

@yankeefreak127 I thought your brother got in…

Would informing Harvard of your acceptances to other Ivy schools increase/decrease your chances of getting accepted off of the waitlist? Also, is it true that URMs with lower than average test scores have a higher probability of getting accepted off of the waitlist?

I doubt that telling H that you were accepted at other Ivy league schools would have any impact. The fact that you are on the wait list means that they think you are a viable candidate and that you more than likely have offers from many fine schools.

As to who gets off the wait list, it is strictly a matter of what holes H has in building their class on May 1. If too few URMs accepted the offer of admission, then URMs will get offers off of the wait list. If too few International Math Olympiad winners accept, then a math person will get an offer. And so on and so on. It really serves no purpose to try to guess your likelihood.

All that you can do is update them with any significant achievements since you sent in your application and express your continued interest. Other than that, fall in love with one of your other choices and prepare for that path. If H calls, then you can revisit where to go. Good luck!

I’m a waitlistee too. I’ve heard basically what cltdad said above. When is the best time to send in an update? Good luck!

Has anyone heard anything yet?
