Has any UC Berkeley student ever had or attempted to have an intellectual discussion with one of the homeless people at People's Park or just in the general campus vicinity? If so, how did said intellectual discussion go?

I am not being a troll btw this is serious and I really want to know.

(Mods, if this is the wrong place for me to post this I would like to know where the right thread would be for it, thanks. )

Oh and to add “legitness” to this post some of the homeless people are homeless by choice aka they (at least believed they) knew what they were doing when they chose poverty. Some are also ex-hippies from the riots/free speech movement of the 60s. I imagine if someone had the guts and found the right person they could actually have a pretty interesting conversation, just saying.

I smoked pot with homeless ppl at people’s park. Of course we talked about why pot should be legal…

id think some cal students would be put to shame if they engaged in an intellectual conversation with some of the smarter homeless around campus.
