Has anybody on here ever...

Double majored in Computer Science and finance or economics? For those who have double majored, why did you? Would you choose to do it again if given the choice, why or why not? For those of you who have not double majored in the aforementioned fields, I could still use your theory on why or why not to double major.

Thanks.

I was originally going to double major in CompSci and Finance, but ultimately realized I liked analytics/consulting more. The thought process was, well it would allow me to exercise both sides of my brain, give me an edge in internship process, and also let me figure out what I’m passionate about. Ultimately I’m still working on the BSE in Econ, but concentrating in Marketing/Analytics instead.

Would I do it again? Probably, because I really enjoy most of the classes I’m taking. Is it optimal? Probably not, because if you already know what you’re passionate about, you can really spend your time focusing in. I’m not into banking/trading, so you might want to get another opinion there. Honestly, CS isn’t much help unless you are doing some sort of quantitative research/infrastructure role.
