Has anybody transferred between colleges?

I have very clear ideas about what I want to do. Unfortunately, I have multiple very clear ideas about what I want to do. I have strong interests in both engineering (civil or chemical) and accounting.

I applied to and was accepted by the CSE. If I wanted to transfer to Carlson after my freshman year, can anybody give details on how the process works? I saw the forms on the CSOM website, but a little more info would be nice. In particular, do the econ courses have to be completed at UMN or could I use AP credit?

Also, what exactly does it mean for a course to have sophomore standing as a prerequisite? I will be bringing in a fair amount of AP credit - so could I meet the requirement by second semester of my freshman year? Someone else asked this recently, but it wasn't answered.

Finally, does anyone know if the honors version of ACCT 2050 even has sophomore standing as a prereq? The listing for 2050H doesn't show it but 2050 regular does.

Thanks so much for your help. I'm almost sold on attending the UofM!

I know people that have transferred with the UofM into Carlson. All you need to do is maintain a good gpa. Also, talk to your academic advisers about this. oh yeah, you should ask if they have any dual degree programs…if you wanna do both. good luck! :)

sopho standing means you have 30 credits already. so you got to have lots of ap.
