Is transferring worth it? Please help!

Hello, all!

I need YOUR advice!

I am a current sophomore at VCU, but I plan on transferring to UVA or to the University of Minnesota at Twin Cities. My major is economics, and as of right now I have completed 38 credits. My cumulative GPA is 3.5. I'm not too concerned about transferring as I am confident that I will be able to get in to both schools. But I am unsure if it will be worth my while to transfer.

For instance: I would have completed all prerequisites for the UMN at Twin Cities economics program except for calculus 2. By how much will this set me back- a semester, two? In order to declare your major at UMN for econ you need to complete all prerequisites. Will it be worth, especially considering that it is a top 15 econ undergraduate program?

Thanks for your time.

Also, if you know any good scholarships to apply for for undergrad transfer students, it would be greatly appreciated!

I’m pretty sure undergraduate economics courses at the University of Minnesota are taught primarily by graduate students. I’m not sure if that factors in your decision, but it did for me.

I take it that you didnt end up attending UMN-TC. What decision did you go with?
