Thank You!! phew that’s a relief. That’s cool you did your housing today, what are your preferences if I may ask? I really want Residential/Parkside commons.

Congrats to all the transfers who got in. Consider yourselves very lucky. For Spring 2013, no transfers will be accepted at a majority of CSUs including CSULB. With the budget cuts, Fall 2013 is most likely to follow the same policy. Who knows when they will let in transfers again?

Anyway, congrats again! WOOH! The wait is FINALLY over.

Those were my preferences as well. I don’t want to do traditional because I really don’t want to be in a dorm hall with that many freshman. I imagine residential/parkside with more upper division students who are a bit more mature.

I see my cousin lied and I already texted her liar.

At what point will we be allowed to register? Financial Aid? When will our transcripts show up?

You will get to register for classes during your scheduled orientation. For the financial aid, I think they will show up in a few weeks because when I originally accepted Northridge’s offer, I was able to view it in, I think it was, 2 weeks? Or maybe 3… But not the transcript though… That might take longer…

So if it says clear admit that means I’m not provisional???

Exactly!!!

Admitted transfer student here! I have a lot of questions that I need answers to!

First off, is housing guaranteed for transfer students who turn in an application before May 1? I don’t want to spend $400 on a non-refundable application and end up not having someplace to live.

Second, when will we be getting our Financial Aid awards? I need to know what financial aid I’m getting so I can assess how much I can pay for room & board and how much I have to loan. Again, I don’t want to spend $400 on the housing application and end up having not a lot of FA to help me pay for housing.

Thirdly, is it difficult to change majors at CSULB? Or, double major? I got in as a film major, and I was thinking about changing or double majoring in Computer Science, or Psychology. Will it be difficult to change my major since CS and Psych – well all majors really – are impacted?

Lastly (for now), is there a unit cap at CSULB?

P.S. Are there other film majors on here too? I have more questions about CSULB’s film program lol.

there is a unit cap at csulb because of the budget cuts that was just put into place for next semester. 12 units then you can assign for up to 16 max in august. secondly i cant guarantee houaing because have been filing applications since early march/february. secondly not all majors are impacted, however psychology is. if you plan to switch to psych you’ll have to do the pre-requisites first which will put you behind, but if you want a nonimpacted major it should be simple. just go to department and switch. you also get financial aid awards in a month or two

Has anyone received a letter/packet in the mail? How long after admittance?

Tutu, I have to correct you on the unit cap- its 13 units. Also to switch majors, you’ll have to do the lower division requirements to get your degree. It doesnt matter if it’s impacted or not.

For those asking about guaranteed housing: Its not guaranteed but I emailed housing and they said there is still plenty of space available.

I just signed onto my account and saw my financial aid information!

ah yeah. i assumed doing lower division stuff is included xD least for when i switched from psych to japanese.

13 units is the max only at the beginning period. 16 units it the max when the reopen enrollment

As transfers we’ll be lucky to get a nice 12, forget about 16.

Also is tuition (7+ units) for a full year fixed at 6739?

Hopeful, they might be full of *****, but it says on the SOAR page that students are able to enroll in at least 12 units their first semester. I know for me as a psych major, we are required to take a certain upper division psych class our first semester. So that will take up 3 of my units!
