Has anyone been accepted to CSULB for Fall 2012 yet?

No + or -, only letter grades.

Still haven’t heard anything either…

Mechanical Engineering major (transfer)
G.P.A. 3.21

@csulbengineer: I have heard nothing but good things about the program. I talked with a few guys form the formula sae team a couple weeks back and they were really chill and the car was awesome.
All my friends that are going to places like berkely and ucla that i tell that im going to long beach always say “they have a really great engineering program”
in terms of opportunities, you cant beat the long beach area. you have so much aerospoace industry right in your backyard there in less than 20 minutes by car. so internships should be plentiful in the area. and ill tell you that an internship is 1000x more important to get than any research opportunities at school.
and yes i think that most people would put long beach in the top 3 or 4 for csu’s. which is great considering that its behind both calpoly’s which are better than many uc programs.
lastly, i would put a wager down to say that most classes will have a curve.

@slug54 do you happen to go to coc?

nope i go to Bakersfield College

woah elite toast. my boyfriend is at coc and plans to transfer next next year XD

good to see someone else from santa clarita : D

tutudragon, its always awesome seeing people coming from the same place! coc has been good to me, but damn, its time to get out of there! hopefully your boyfriend gets in!!

hey elite random question.

my boyfriend said teh counselor told him he’d have to get to calc 3 to take the engineerign equivalent class there, yet long beach only wants calc 1 or so for transfer. did yo utake some basic engineerign classes at coc or are going in taking like engineering 101/201/whatever they have XD

well which engineering major is he? I am mechanical and i have taken calc1-3. physics(mechanics, and electricity/magnetism), a solid modeling class, materials of engineering, and programming. i would suggest he takes all of those except materials. I will have to appeal for them to take my materials credit because at Long Beach its an upper division course. but basically tell your boyfriend that he needs to take calc 1-3. Tell him Diane Solomon at coc in valencia is a great counselor. long beach may only want calc 1 for lower division transfers, i am assuming your boyfriend is upper division.

he’s going into his second year and wanted to transfer by his third, but hes only starting trig this summer. i was hoping thered be a way around staying at coc more than next year. darn << he’s going into electrical. ah well. thanks for the info though

Still waiting :/

yeah, so he will for sure need calc1-3, physics 1-3, and electrical circuits. some heads up for him. physics 3 is offered only during the summer. and circuits is offered only during the spring. yeah, depending on where he is in the math it definitely can turn into a 3 year deal. took me three years because i started in algebra.

Will today be the day we find out?

I hope today will be the day!

It has to be today or tomorrow cause I think Fridays most colleges close early. Unless this thing drags till next month

Yeah hopefully we hear today… I turned everything in early so I don’t understand why I’m the last group to hear from them… Best of luck to everyone still waiting on decisions.

@Slug54: I turned my paper work in early as well. I wonder why they are waiting to the last minute so give their decisions.

dmangat, I say you should go to CSUDH so you can start taking classes towards your degree, if ever you still feel like re-applying for next Fall, go ahead and do it. You can transfer from CSU to another, but what if you end up liking DH in the long run? It’s still a win-win situation, as you have starting your progress towards your degree already and won’t have wasted a year. =D That’s what I’m going to do, I may end up accepting DH this Friday so I can send them my transcripts as I haven’t done so already plus Financial Aid documents deadline is coming up on May 17th. Better start the process now. If LB suddenly accepts you, you can cancel DH by calling them.

I can’t believe this decision is taking so long. I am getting tired of waiting and I am also getting hopeless. I didn’t know that it would be so hard to get into a not impacted major! I sincerely hope I can hear from them by the end of this week. I need to plan my life. Waiting is not fun at all!

We should all call the admissions office at the same time and bug the hell out of them. :D
