has anyone been accepted to film production yet?

my son still hasn't heard one way or the other yet. has anyone been accepted to the film production program yet??

i haven't heard yet either...it seems as though everyone on this board that applyed to film had only heard back on critical studies and screenwriting programs...the time is FINALLY almost here...

I applied to the Undergraduate Production Program and have been bitting my nails ever since the I heard about the admits to USC's screenwriting program. USC is my top choice. I hope you guy's hear soon. Does anyone know if you are accepted to the film school and regular school at the same time?

good question, shady. i was under the impression that if you didn't get into the major you wanted, then you didn't get into the school. this is what i understood when my son and i went to a reception usc was giving in our area, but after reading some of the posts here, it seems i might have misunderstood.

i've seen people who have been rejected for the production program, but so far, haven't heard of anyone accepted yet.

good luck to you shady, and to your son ginny...I hope we all get in!

As for the correlation between acceptance to USC and Film School...it is possible that you could be accepted to USC and not film (they accept you as undecided)...or you could be accepted to film and rejected from USC (in which case you would be unable to attend).

Also, acceptance to USC and film school do not necessarily come at the same time. Many people have already heard about their acceptance to USC. I was accepted back in February.

Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the info cboryca22 and ginnynicksmom. I hope we all get in 2. We won't have to wait much longer, it's almost april 1st.

cbory, thanks for the info. didn't know that there were 2 acceptances - film AND usc. but i'm sure the administrator said something to the effect that if you got into the major, you'll get into the school. something like that. not vice versa though.

then again, maybe we didn't understand what was said. my son has not been accepted to the film production OR usc yet! believe me, usc is the part we're worried about. he's super talented (won many film fests) but lazy with the academics. too busy making films.

i hope you all get in as well - you seem like nice kids and at least you're conscientious enough to look on this message board. my son is very happy-go-lucky and laid back about all this (although he calls everyday from school to see if the mail came yet).

good luck!
