Has anyone been accepted with a DUI/DWI?

I'm trying to see if this is realistic. I got into UNC yet they sent me (and everyone else) another "community standards form" asking whether i have any charges pending against me. I do in fact have a DWI charge pending that happened between the time of the application and the decision date. (Meaning i got my DWI after i submitted my application.) Does anyone know if it's possible to explain and justify a DWI before an acceptance gets rescinded? Have you or anyone you know been able to explain any misdemeanors after acceptance? Thank you.

You’re a shoe-in for rescission if you lie ad get caught.

When is your next court date/when is the form due? Might want to consult your criminal attorney to time a disposition to your advantage.

My friend’s brother got into UNC with a DUI that happened before his acceptance, and several seniors at my school got drinking tickets at prom and have yet to have their UNC acceptances revoked (though scholarships have been taken away). Your best bet is to be entirely honest with the admissions office.

My disposition is not going to be for a while. The point is, they’re asking whether i have any charges pending. So, i am going to say “yes”. If i’m going to get convicted, it won’t be for another year.

In the explanation should i treat “charges” as if they are in fact a “conviction” and be more apologetic or should i be more defensive a la “innocent till proven guilty” and say that this has nothing to do with my character/academic progress?
Thanks guys!

What ended up happening?
