Hey guys, like most of you I've been spending a lot of time looking at schools in the states. But recently I've been thinking about going to Europe for school. So does anybody know anything about the American universities abroad? (Specifically the American University of Paris, the American College of Greece, the American university of Athens) Rankings, size, experiences? Any insight would be great! Pros and cons also.

Hey Laura,

Just saw this post so I apologize if my answer comes a little late. I work for the Admissions Office at AUP and am also an alumn, so feel free to ask me (almost) anything.

I think the best thing to do is to check out the websites of the different colleges that you are interested in (for AUP it’s [Welcome to The American University of Paris](http://www.aup.edu)). Once you have picked your favorite ones, look at accreditation. This is absolutely critical as you want your degree to be regionally accredited and accepted in the United States (i.e. AUP is accredited by Middle States). This should narrow down your selection further.

Then I’d recommend getting in touch with the university and its students. There is noone who can give you a better insight about whether a university is right for you than the students already studying there.

You should be able to find rankings, size etc. on the universities’ websites. What also helps is to look what their alumni end up doing. Not everything revolves around a USA today ranking as many of those international schools don’t report the required data, as they don’t require the same tests of students like US schools do.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give me a shout!

Best,
Sebastian
