has anyone else not received an admissions decision yet?

Jesus, some people feel so entitled. Michigan is not doing this as a personal offense to you because you weren’t “good” enough to get accepted in february. It’s a business, and like any smart business they are testing the waters before going all-in so as to avoid something like, lets say, a housing crisis that I’m sure you wouldn’t want to be a part of your freshman year.

How about you just relax and wait to see what happens? I bet there’s at least a 50% chance you get accepted provided your previous post didn’t reveal too much about your ability to think rationally. And as to the “oh we’ll take you now because all the people who we did want aren’t coming” argument - get over it. You should feel privileged you even had the honor of being deferred to have the chance of attending one of the best educational institutions in the world.

@GreenWolverine I think everyone is stressed enough with not receiving decisions and they don’t need you to put them down - I don’t believe anyone feels “entitled” but they can’t help but be annoyed that Michigan probably takes the longest to release their decisions. Almost every school has released final decisions - it is less than 1 month til the national commit day and obviously, 1 month is not long enough to make such a large decision. I highly doubt that anyway feels that Michigan has a personal reason to keep decisions, but EVERYONE and ANYONE has the right to vent and feel upset. Putting people down “You should feel privildged” is such a hurtful thing to say. A positive attitude would be much more mature and appropriate!

The good news is, if you are admitted, no one will ever care if you were admitted in November or in April. Once you are in YOU ARE IN…period. You are not a second class admission, no scarlett letter, no special codes are imprinted on your MCard. Last year, which was the first year with the Common App, the delays got so crazy that the New York Times–the NEW YORK TIMES!-- ran an article on the admissions process at UM. This is not atypical for UM.

For those who say they are so fed up with the wait that they may not go there even if they are admitted…bull. If you get that e-mail in the next week or so that you are admitted, you will send in that deposit faster than you though possible–and you should: The University of Michigan is worth the wait.

I must agree with snackyx. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter when you were accepted, it just matters that you were. Yeah, I know waiting until Mid-April isn’t ideal (I was also deferred EA) but even if I got accepted April 20th they’d still have my deposit a few hours later. I know it can be disheartening to have to wait so long, but IMO U of M is worth the wait. I have a great back up option which has made this process easier, but waiting is waiting. Good luck to everyone :)

The thing is many people, including me, will feel the same way. If U Mich thought of us as outstanding candidates, they would have accepted us quite a while back. Because if they don’t have the places to offer, they will not accept us later. They would not have let go of top candidates. Having waiting for 4 months, I feel the same way. I’ve been accepted to Carnegie Mellon, and would much rather go there now. I would have considered the 2 of them had U Mich replied earlier. But in such a case, I would not want to jeopardize my ability to select residence and other things at another university.

No decision here either. In the meantime, son is falling in love with the ones who have accepted him.

I too was deferred EA but I still have all my hopes up. Although I have got accepted at USC, Michigan is still my top choice.
And to all those who are getting negative, you cannot lose hope when the going gets tough. Keep hoping, be positive, do it for the student who months ago had decided to attend one of USA’s premier universities.
Best of Luck. Go Blue.

I saw on another thread that one decision wave was sent out today but I still have no news from Michigan

Actually I just checked the portal without them emailing me and the decision is available! I was waitlisted

Ok I’ll check mine: waitlisted.

My decision was sent around 20 minutes ago. Be on the lookout! they just emailed me

they emailed me too
