Looklake, hoosiermom, and All,

Thanks. It is too bad that Collins LLC does not have AC. Would selecting Honors community in Central help or hurt one’s chance of getting an air-conditioned room?

^^^That’s what my son chose and he was assigned to Teter (back in 2007).

I figure I don’t need to start another thread to ask this…

Does anyone know through experience or knowledge the latest that RPS sends out dorm assignments? Thanks.

Residence Scholar (Ashton Johnston) rooms are all air-conditioned.

I STILL haven’t received my housing assignment. At this point, I’m pretty sure I’m doomed to not even getting an assignment until a month or so into the semester. It sucks, but I guess this it what I get for slacking my freshman and sophomore year and only barely being admitted (waitlist admittance).

^ When did you apply for housing? I haven’t gotten mine yet, either.

Interesting. All my friends (even those admitted after waitlist) have gotten housing.

^Either they are lying to you or they don’t do it in chronological order. I applied for housing maybe a day or two after being admitted off the waitlist (May 11) and still haven’t been assigned.

Yeah, I applied on May 1st and I’m yet to hear anything as well. From what I’ve been told by a couple of current IU students, we may have to wait until August or so to hear back about our neighborhood/dorm assignment. It’s annoying, but I’d much rather find out this summer than have no housing at the start of the school year at all.

I am growing really impatient though.

I applied on April 18 and still haven’t gotten anything. I’m going to call RPS tomorrow and see what’s up.

Well, be patient. All my friends have gotten them (perhaps it has something to do with them being local students?), so I’m sure you all will get them soon.

I’m officially fed-up. Still nothing. I think I’ll go on ahead and call RPS now and see what’s up.

Try going to this link to see if anything is posted yet, if you haven’t already. Maybe they just haven’t sent you an e-mail notification.

Then click “Login In”

At orientation, they definitely said there are still some people without housing, but not to worry (that’d be hard for me!, especially when posters on other threads say they’ve already been assigned to a lounge!, doesn’t bode well to those of us already trying to waitlist a different LLC, guess we should be glad we have a room at all). I visited housing several times during orientation (have an issue), and they were SO busy but trying SO hard. Luck to y’all

Ugh! My DD still has not heard yet. I am really getting worried. We sent the housing application and check in early May. When my DS sent his housing application to a VA state school he knew his room and roommate by early June. Why is IU so slow?

Now whenever I log in, instead of “We are currently processing your application,” I get the tabs that say “General Info”, “Rate Info,” etc, but there’s no information under them… does this mean I’ll be getting my assignment soon?

leila:

No idea what it means. You said you were going to call, did you? They DO field phone calls, and are usually pretty chipper for people who must be going through H3LL right now. Give them a call (or even e-mail, they’ve been answering our e-mails too).

If you haven’t called already, I would do it! When i called, i was expecting someone who would seem slightly annoyed by my call, since I knew they were trying really hard to get these done. I was pleasantly surprised when the lady who answered my call was as friendly and helpful as can be! The day I called (last Tuesday), they said my April 18th housing app would be available within two days, and it was.

Please, please IU, tell my daughter where she living! Pretty please!!!

I talked to people from RPS in person when I went to orientation last week. They said to expect it no later than the end of this month. This is still so frustrating though… I feel like everyone knows where they’re living except me.
