I was just rejected to UC Santa Cruz and I'm really scared about Santa Barbara. I just want to know if anyone has been accepted to Santa Barbara before without being accepted to Santa Cruz. Or any similar stories. Being rejected to one school you were 100% sure you'd get into, and being accepted to a school you weren't sure about.

I don’t know speifically about UCSB and UCSC, but lots of kids experience backward seeming results every year.

Admissions to two schools are independent events; anything can happen.

Good luck.

My son wasn’t accepted at UCSC but accepted at UCSB. I just learned the reason for this is that if you applied to UCLA or UCB, UCSC used the scoring from those schools without even looking at your application! So much for trying for a “reach” school. Here is the link to the thread. You need to scroll up to see the whole thing. Good luck with UCSB! [Ms. Sun’s UC Admissions Blog - UC Santa Cruz Update](Error).
