I requested them on Friday and they still haven’t been sent out. CSUN is sending out acceptance letters and I don’t want to be left out because AVC is being slow!

@smurray09 but they know you’re in the process of appealing righttt?

I’m not appealing. I’m being re evaluated. They said if I’m being reviewed I don’t have to appeal.

Ohhh okayyy. Cause I was a little confused about that. Well, keep me updated!

Definitely will. BTW I was in the MyNorthridge portal and I saw that I have an unofficial transcript that I can view; of course nothing is on there but I couldn’t access that a few weeks ago… Is that a good sign?

Hmmm. I’ve never really explored that. Ahaha, but probably! It means they might be reserving for the official one they’ll need before you start in the Fall! Positive thoughts, haha.

Update: AVC finally sent my CSU Cert out yesterday to CSUN… I called CSUN and told them and they said give it a few weeks for another decision. Hopefully that means sometime this month! :)

@smurray09 that’s greattt! Good luck(:

Thank you!

Just a heads up, northridge is sending out acceptance letters. I just got admitted this afternoon. Good luck on everyone else!

Oh and I have a question. I’m a psychology major, but I want to do pre med as well. Considering that, should I go to San Jose state or Northridge if you were in my shoes? Thanks.

Hi @clamchowdaa I was accepted at Northridge in Feb. Congrats on getting in! I’ve heard great stuff about CSUN’s Psych dept–school activities supporting it too, but I’m not sure about the pre-med part. Especially since I don’t really know much about SJSU. Weigh your pros and cons, what’s best parts about both schools? I’m also in the process of deciding which school to accept: UCSC, UCSB, and CSUN. It’s just the money that’s a big factor for me. Good luck!

@clamchowdaa congrats!! you’re transferring from a CC in NorCal too right? I hope I get my letter soon

I called CSUN and they stated that it takes 3 weeks to receive my CSU Cert… Is that true? Why would it take that long to receive a transcript??

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@smurray09 they said it takes that long to RECEIVE it? Or to PROCESS it? Cause I know that’s their estimated time of processing things, but you’re right receiving it in three weeks sounds a little weird.

for processing transcripts they told me 6-8 weeks. but as for receiving… idk about that. Because if that’s true, then it would take them 9-12 weeks for everything! that sounds a bit off.

The woman I talked to said that it would take 3 weeks becuase of 9/11, and and the mail service checks everything… I just hope I get a final decision before the 1st housing payment is due.

The first time I called last week, they told me that it would only take a couple of weeks to give me final decision… I’m really confused now

@smurray09 you’re planning to do housing there? Well, can’t they push back the payment due date especially if you don’t know your final decision yet?

No they won’t do that. If you don’t make the payment u lose your spot.

thanks for the helpful suggestions @roseyy. I have a sister that goes to UCSB and she always complains to me about how pricey it is to live out there, BUT SB is gorgeous and it is right on the beach so what do you expect? Same goes for SC. not saying you shouldn’t go there because of the expensive housing, because they’re both great schools. But if you’re heavily weighing it on finances, then you should consider that… plus tuition from csu’s v.s uc’s. hope that helps.

yes I am transferring from the bay to either sj or northridge @myusernameiscool. I’m still debating lol. Good luck on your admissions!

@smurray09 it takes about 6-8 weeks depending how late you sent in your transcripts. To give you an idea, I sent my transcript in the end of february and I kept bugging the admissions when I was going to get an admission notice. They just completely processed it a couple days ago… they’re pretty late compared to the other CSU’s, but I heard you should know by the end of may. good luck.

@clamchowdaa thanks for your input! And yes, the financial part is basically my main considering factor. If it wasn’t, I’d go straight to SB since it’s my dream school! When is your decision for SJ due?
