Has anyone gotten accepted into UCSB?

Has anyone been accepted into UC Santa Barbara? I was admitted as a transfer student and don't know what to expect from it. I went to the Spring Insight and liked it but am concerned whether I should dorm for my first year there or rent an apartment. The residence halls I am looking into are San Rafael and Manzanita. Any recommendations? Anyone transferring to UCSB as a science major?
Thanks!

You might also want to ask on the UCSB forum.

I was accepted. Live on the dorm for the best experience and chances to meet new friends

That thread has about 50 pages on UCSB decisions with many people reporting that they were accepted.

i accidently put off campus on my fasfa i think cause on my award letter it says off campus ><

check your FAFSA application to see if you put it as off campus.

congratulations! on the other UCSB thread some students posted that they listed “On Campus” but their award was based on “Off campus”. one of the students called and reported that UCSB was using “Off campus” as the default and will adjust it later, maybe after students SIR? anyway, it is a very good school and a cool town. i am definitely living Off campus in the town of santa barbara (if i decide to attend UCSB). but i don’t care for institutional living. and won’t miss the dorm life. but my sister loved living in the dorms when she went to CAL. so everyone is different. good luck!
