I guess if you didn’t get the RSVP email, you’re rejected ?

ahahaha.

fate’s april fool’s joke: while i’m ardently awaiting the one place i have yet to hear from (nyu) the mailman brings a copy of NEW YORK magazine featuring a cover story about COLLEGE ADMISSIONS titled YOU’VE GOT MAIL. well done, irony gods, well done.

did anyone get accepted to NYU TODAY?

nothin today. Is it a good idea to call admissions tomorrow? from what ive heard, some people got yelled at??.. but *** its april 1, what are you guys going to do

ohhhhh. myyyyyy. godddddd.

How come the letter takes so long to arrive?
I just wanna know alrady, accepted or rejected.

Because we haven’t invented magic fireplaces that shoot out letters.

Once it leaves NYU, it’s out of their hands. I’ve read that if you don’t get anything by the 9th, to start calling. But one day late, they’re not going to tell you your decision over the phone.

I called this morning. Told me it was mailed out and that it should come “in the next few days” (love the specificity). When I asked when it was mailed, she said Tuesday (yet ANOTHER answer). I’m hoping it comes today, I’m getting antsy.

How would they know when it’s going to come, exactly? Once it leaves the NYU mail room, it’s not like they track it. It’s up to the US Postal Service.

well I live in NY so it shouldn’t be too long after they send it.

I’ve noticed that at other schools, they don’t send rejections – you have to look online. Like, you suck so much, we aren’t going to waste a stamp on you!

Guys dont loose hope! I just got my stern packet today!

Had you received either of the two emails (the thing about accepted student days and the acceptance)?

From NJ. Didn’t get either emails. Nothing in the mail today. I called the office they said that they sent out stuff last week.

■■■.

Everyone seems to be getting different answers from the admissions office.

congrats hardworker! after that login thing i was getting worried! maybe there’s still hope for me!

Got a small envelope, and was waitlisted from Stern.

Stats: 3.51 unweighted, 3.69 weighted.
SAT: 2130 combined (740 math, 660 crit, 730 writing)

EC: 2 leadership roles, around 6 total clubs.
Sports, 310+ hours of volunteer.
But I wasn’t surprised, so meh.

i think the admissions office really screwed things up this year being so late with things. I think they saw this screw up last week and first sent out packets to highly qualified students and stern/tisch accepted applicants…CAS was probably last because it is such a big school…at least this is what i’m hoping…because I haven’t received ANYTHING

(p.s. - I can’t confirm either way if I received an email because they had one of my emails on file that expired mid february)

I’m from IL by the way. It seems only like 1/10 (probably more like 1/15) IL applicants have received anything and it seems they were all Stern or Tisch

No guys do not loose hope! Trust me…I was so doubtful after my string of rejections this week…
And NOW, I GOT IT!

I didn’t get any e-mails or ANYTHING! This is the first and only thing I got from NYU!

Oh wow. So I guess they weren’t just being comforting when they said that it doesn’t necessarily mean rejection. Congratulations hardworker!
