Has anyone heard from Wellesley RD???

Hi, Wellesley is my first choice, but i couldnt apply ED as my Sat scores weren't good enough at the time...

So does ANYONE know ANYONE who's been accepted RD?
i've heard Wellesley usually sends it acceptences on April 1st but that does seem a bit too late.

Wellesley sends its RD and official EE acceptances in late March. When I got into Wellesley nearly five years ago, I heard sometime in March. You can set the board settings to look at posts "from the beginning" and see the dates people start to post that they got in. It won't be "any day now" but it will be sooner than you think. Good luck.

I think they should be posting the decisions from around Thursday 26th March. But I've been looking at some of the earlier Wellesley threads.

hey thanks for the posts they were really helpful.
quick question: do you guys think it would be helpful to be an international who's not asking for aid?
My parent agreed to pay full tuition if i got in to Wellesley as its my first choice.
and one more question - does Wellesley accept you based on which major you declare? or does it take you in based on your overall application?? Thx.

1 Overall application not major-specific
2 Helps to be international without aid (as opposed to international needing aid) but I don't know about as opposed to domestic students

I'm an international applying for a lot of financial aid. It definitely helps if your an international applicant who doesn't need any funding, as aid for international students at most top LACs are limited, and it could be you at a competitive disadvantage compared to other qualified students.

The aid question is an interesting one. Aid received is based on one's ability to pay, and like many schools, people who have applied to Wellesley have been less than happy with their financial aid packages. Since students are encouraged to fill out financial aid forms I wonder if someone who is applying for aid, but has an efc high enough that she won't get any would be tossed in the "doesn't need aid" pile in terms of need.

this suspense is ridiculous.

International student from a very small mining town...
SAT I: 1890( first try)
SAt II: 2150( first try)
TOEFL: 112( first try)
couldn't afford to go to a big town to take it more than once

part of the editorial staff of our high school magazine
I have recently been acclaimed as one of the students who has won the greatest number of awards in our school( in an article )
coordinated a research activity in our high school ( it consisted of applying questionnaies, collecting and interpreting data, publishing it + I was the coordinator of the entire group who did this)
my activity as a volunteer implied some sort of research activity ( went to dif. schools, applied questionnaires, collected the data + direct work with the children at a daily center
National Children's Forum ( participated about 5 times)
great recs.
intended major: sociology
can I please get an honest opinion on my chances?
oh, also had an interview - went very well
the interviewer said it was definitely interesting as I was the first person he had interviewed who was not into pure sciences

Applied for FA? YES ( I need the full package:(()
thanks,!

sorry! that interview was for Princeton :D

very jealous of your grades...

Does anyone know if RD notifications are going to be posted online? When I applied ED, I was able to view my admission decision online, so I'm really curious. Thanks!

ditto, lena1991. i now feel generally like a slacker for both her grades and her romanian class. best of luck, chopin, and everyone else, too.
we're almost there.

1500 hours community service? That's close to a year of full-time work.

do you think if i told wellesley all my other college acceptances they'd want me more?
and i think they might have replied to a few people they really want. I know that MIT, etc are sending out acceptance letters.

I would that the RD decisions would be out this week. Smith and Mt. Holyoke both came out on Friday. Wellesley cannot be too far behind. I would expect that the decisions by and large are done with perhaps some borderline ones still being considered.

Does anybody know when Wellesley is going to send out financial aid information to its accepted students?
