I remember a set of twins from Long Island got perfect scores years ago on the old SAT, but I haven't heard of anyone that got it on the new one.

Hundreds get them every year. In fact, there are a bunch here on CC!! Not me though :(

Really? Haha...are you sure they aren't robots? It seems the only way to get a perfect score is like from that movie when the kids steal the answers lol. How do you have enough time for all of the questions let alone get them ALL right?!

I think it would be a lot easier to get a perfect score on the new SAT if it weren't for the essay, just because it's subjective. I really wish I had the opportunity to take the old one.

official statistics on how many people scored 2400 on the 2006 SAT tests:

If you consider a "perfect score" an 800 writing with a 12E then it would be hard. But you can attain a 800 on the writing section without a 12E.

I know of 2 people in my area

You can't take everything people say on this site for the truth. You really don't know if all of these high scorers are real. There were only 238 people who had perfect 2400s last year. I don't know any personally though. As for the 800 Writing w/12 essay, I know 2 people w/that. One of them also had an 80 MC score. Pretty amazing since he just moved to the US last year!

I know people who have come very very close.

If you combine my highest scores from two sittings, i do :-).

800s on math and writing (with an 11) the first time.

800 on critical reading the second.

I tried for that illustrious perfect score, but I can only ever manage it by section. I do know people who have been perfect, though.

SpudmanKA, what you did is comparable to a perfect score. Colleges look at your highest scores from each test, or your composite score. Your composite is a 2400, so that is what the colleges will go by.

I almost got a perfect score...

4 or 5 people in my high school graduating year got 2400.. 2 of them got it on the first new SAT given back in march 05..those smarty pants.

I got an 800 in all three sections on the November 2006 test.

If you look at the thread titled, "Uber exclusive 2300 club" or something like that, the designation "1st Class" is used to indicate a score achieved in one sitting. I believe there are a few 2400s.

Hepstar, this is true in many cases, but not all. The UC schools only take the best from one sitting.
