D auditioned back on December 11th and it was a wonderful experience. Very well organized, everything went like clockwork according to schedule. Everyone was extremely supportive and helpful. The Q/A was excellent and we were impressed with Hartt’s philosophy about MT training. My D’s audition went very well, and she received an acceptance letter about 2 weeks later with a note saying she’d be considered for a scholarship to be awarded by April. Just got that scholarship letter a few days ago. Hartt '15 here she comes!

How many in Hartt’s freshman class typically?

Around 20. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Right now we have 18. :)

HI theatrenerd10,
My D got accepted a couple of days ago to Hartt. We are hoping to come visit and see Company (we live in CA). Anything you can tell us about being at hartt for MT would be appreciated - typical schedule, performance opportunities, social scene, school spirit, etc. Zoe Kassey is wonderful by the way.
Thanks so much!

Hi nbmom! We are from CA as well! Also going to visit soon but alas will have to be after Company, son is going somewhere with choir for spring break.

That would be great to hear more as you said about typical schedules and anything else that could be offered. Also, any comments about freshman dorms? They look fairly dismal online.

Trueofheart we are from NY and did the tour the dorms look like most of the dorms we saw at other schools. The students told us a majority of the Hartt kids move off campus in sophmore year to an apartment complex called Clemmens Place which we passed by and looked at online, seems nice, but hard enough to think of her leaving for college, can’t quite wrap my brain around the fact she may be in her own apt in a bit more than a year!

When it happens they are more ready than you would believe right now. I felt the same way.
