I'm just wondering if its possible to get in if I apply undeclared. If it is possible, I'd love to know what caliber student it would take. I know the college of engineering is the most selective at Berkeley and the tour guide told me I had to select a major when I apply. However, I emailed their admissions office and they told me I could apply undeclared. Help please!

You may apply to College of Engineering Undeclared. However, this is probably at the higher end of selectivity compared to other College of Engineering majors. If you are admitted and enter as College of Engineering Undeclared, you may declare any College of Engineering major in the second through fourth semesters, if in good academic standing (GPA >= 2.0).

Changing your declared major within the College of Engineering requires applying to do so and is not guaranteed.

If you enter as Undeclared in some other division like the College of Letters and Science, there is a competitive admissions process to enter a College of Engineering major.
