Has anyone here studied their way to a high Literature score

Please, advise me on how to do the same

I need a third SAT II for Harvard and the Lit test is a perfect way to make up for/explain other factors of my poor Humanities class grade.

Thanks

I did every test in the Barrons Lit book. I got a 770. I don't know if it was because of the Lit studying, or what. but I did not feel good about the test after I took it and was very close to cancelling it. Very glad I didn't, hah.

Did you have previous Lit classes?, or was it just the practice?

I already have the Barron's and Kaplan book, so there are 17 exams total. I am also looking over Barron's AP Lit.

Any other suggestions of Lit doesn't already run through your blood?

How long were you studying for? (tdn)

Not very long unfortunately, I was really busy. About half a month so far. I know that is fatal, but I'm still going to try.

On top, I had conflicts with ETS over my SAT score, then college apps, and found out too late that Harvard requires 3 SAT IIs. So, here I am.

I have been practicing and do have experience with reading comprehension. I haven't applied it to poems much in my life though....

I studied for about 1.5 months on the weekends, just doing 1 or 2 practice tests out of the Barrons each weekend. There's a lot of interesting information in the Barrons about literary devices. A lot of it doesn't show up on the test, but if you have the time, I recommend reading them.

I was in AP Language and Composition that school year (I took the SAT II's in June), but I don't think my class helped that much. I ended up struggling with the short stories more than the poetry, which was suprising because we barely touched poetry in our Language class.

I hope this information helps. Best of luck to you guys.

I got the Barron's Lit book, and basically went through the entire book (actual info + practice tests) over about 2 months. Two nights before the test, I got like a 650 on my last practice test...so I wasn't feeling too good, but then I got a high 700s grade on the actual one.

And I didn't have any AP English classes, just normal Honors english or whatever.

so yea, it can be done!
