Just wondering if anyone who may have applied in November and sent in their presceen materials has received a confirmation of their audition. I sent everything in mid November but have not heard anything yet. At some point I received an email that said it would be around 6 weeks before I would receive a decision. I am hoping to be accepted for an audition in NYC on 3/5.

I feel your pain…same with us! We just received an email yesterday (after I called the office). If you selected an audition date and place on your application - it seems that they may abide by that (they did in our case). Good-luck.

Daughter did the early November on-campus audition. She sent all her application materials in early September, and she received an invitation to audition on 10/22 via email. However, there is an additional email she was expecting with more details (times/places). This was to arrive one week prior to the 11/12 audition. When it did not, we called the office, and they re-sent. Checked all spam filters, etc…it just hadn’t come. Since UMich seems to do most of their correspondence via email (she received her deferral letter electronically, too), I think it’s fine to call the office if you’ve let sufficient time go by. Did you sign up for Wolverine Access? That can help you know if your file is complete…anything missing would delay the review for an invitation.

We sent in our application materials as well in November. We have checked our status online but nothing has been updated. I know there are U of M auditions on Jan. 14 and 24th but we still haven’t heard and it was our plan to attend one of those dates at U of M. Has anyone gotten audition times for those dates at U of M?

D’s paperwork went out late November and we haven’t heard, either. I imagine there was quite a rush before the due date.

Hi there…My D sent her paperwork in ON the November 1 deadline for the audition dates she requested (1/14 or 1/21). She got an email about 3 weeks later saying she was invited to audition and offered the 1/14 date. About 2 weeks ago she got a detailed email with times/locations for all of the audition pieces and yesterday she got another reminder of same info.

She has a friend who applied and requested February 4th. He applied right on the Dec 1 deadline and received notification YESTERDAY that he had been invited to audition and had been given his first choice.

Although D has had a couple of early auditions, i must say that i am pretty excited (and anxious) for her as this starts in earnest! Wishing you and your children all easy travel and successful auditions these next couple of months!

I applied on November 6th and got an email December 17th for my Chicago date. Hope that helps!

My D applied for MT at the end of September and received an audition invitation by December 1st. Her on-campus audition is January 14th. She just received an official academic acceptance last week and while she’s not really interested in general acceptance, its not a bad “safety school” for getting a great education and having a wonderfull college experience.

We have called on minor issues and they have been very responsive… We encourage you to call to follow up!

Theatredad2011, did your D also apply to LSA or another major, that she got the academic acceptance? I thought Mich was an “all or nothing” acceptance for the BFA…but I may be getting my schools confused!

mommafrog…when you apply to the BFA in MT at University of Michigan, you are right…all or nothing. But I believe you can apply separately to LSA and I imagine that is what Theatredad is referring to with “academic acceptance.” For those who just apply for the BFA in MT, there is no such thing as an “academic acceptance.”

I received all my emails about auditions around the 15th of December. I sent my application in the week before the deadline and signed up for the January 14th audition date, which I got.

Thanks everyone for your replys. I called today and was told that my application was still under academic review. Perhaps they prioritize by audition date requested. They said they had note of my request for the March date and would let me know in a week or so.

Got the invitation today - whew. D’s application went in Nov 29. I hope you get good news soon, GraceMT.

D’s application went in Nov. 2. She got a general confirmation for Chicago Unifieds (Feb. 6) the week before Christmas, and got her final specific time on Jan. 7.
