Has anyone visited Baldwin Wallace?

Was just exploring their website after it was suggested my S take a look at it. Have read some general info, but am wondering about:
- type of student
- I've read alot about music at B-W ---is music that big there?
- campus look - older? updated? compact? green? (as in green spaces)

If anyone has visited or had impressions, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts!

DS and I visited BW. The campus is compact and buildings are mostly dated. The music program is well known and many profs are with the Cleveland Symphony. The music facilities seemed to be extremely blue collar but I would be hesitant to judge the program by outward appearances. Town seemed a bit sleepy. PM me with specific questions.

Some music specific and general info here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/417138-baldwin-wallace-berea-oh.html?highlight=baldwin+wallace

There’s a separate B-W subforum on the music theater majors page http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/baldwin-wallace-college-mt/

It’s a solid, well respected music program.

The thing is, he’s NOT interested in music! - but I was noticing that that was what I was seeing the college referenced to…so, I’m looking to see if that’s the “big” thing there - if so, may not be worth looking at.

I haven’t done a college tour but I have been there. The campus is kind of typical, with a medium amount of green space. The small city/suburb is very nice with a lot in walking distance of the school (stores, restaurants, a really nice park), and there is easy access to pro sports and concerts etc in Cleveland. I had a co worker who had been, I think, a biology major there. It is nice.

thanks for the info so far, bumping the thread!

I live right by BW, I am only about 20 mins away.
A. The student body right now has sort of the well-privileged private school attitude , but that’s not all of them I’ve met cool people. On average I would say the student body has a similar feel to miami of ohio(if that helps).
B. Music is big there a lot of people are in the conservatory program, and i heard its pretty well recognized. Music isn’t everything though, majority of people are not in the program.
C. The campus is clean the architecture seems to be a mix of modern and old for the most part, there main building looks like a small castle so that’s pretty nice. Here is the link for the virtual tour http://www.bw.edu/vr/

hope that helps good luck on your search.
