My daughter is a senior and looking for colleges. She wants to major in vocal music performance. Does anyone know about anything about Baldwin-Wallace and their reputation as a music conservatory? She has already applied to Univ. of Cincinnati, Otterbein, Indiana, Maryland and OSU. We visited BW and liked the campus a lot. Thanks!

The B-W conservatory is well-regarded. I know a young man applying there -- he's very talented and also looking at some extremely competitive schools, but he and his parents really like B-W, too.

I'm not in music, so will focus on what I know about the school otherwise. The education department is strong and the student teaching program leads to good placements in the Cleveland area. B-W grads get teaching jobs, is what I hear. The theater and business programs are also well-regarded.

The campus has a nice mix of students, including some older students and non-traditional students. The Methodist history of the college means that community service is valued.

In terms of an LAC, it's larger than most.

Berea is a safe, welcoming town. The college is an important part of the local economy.

Hope that helps.
