actually, i know a few that got accepted with mid-year report request.

i actually don't believe there is a correlation between mid year and acceptance.. basically, if you were super good, they don't ask you for mid year, and they send u an acceptance either through the scholarship thing or through the 3/1 wave. otherwise, you got a mid year report request if they think you're decent..

if you were already on the automatic reject pile, you don't get a request; as in the case of my 2 classmates who both
treated USC as a super-reach.. and neither got a mid-year report request..

half of my 2008 class applied to USC, so I know a few in almost every situation. the ppl that didn't get a request, first wave or reject; the ppl that got a midyear request, either accepted on friday or still waiting

OR you may not have been asked for grades because you sent them in before they could make the formal request.

I don't know if that is true. Several of my friends sent out the mid-year report right when it became available (and several weeks before the requests came) and still got it requested... Also, this happened to a few on CC as well. :T

azhao525: I think you're right because I submitted my mid-years as soon as it became available and then got the letter like a week and a half afterwards.

I was asked for mid-years and I got accepted, and was stuck on the "we have received" for a LONG time. I got straight A's with 5 AP's last semester so it should've helped.
