I'm rereading my Common App essay and parts of it are making me gag, lol. :x

Haha yes. I feel like that probably happens to a lot of people, though, after reading and proofing it hundreds of times (it certainly seems like that many!). I still like mine, I’m just sick of it. lol

Now that mine has been sent, I try not to think about it under any circumstances.

^ Wise words, coolstorybro.

YES! omg when i re read it im like WHAT WAS I THINKING?!? haha, but when other people read it they think its good, so its probably just that i have read it so many times it just sounds bad to me now.

Oh my god, yes. Especially because I wrote another essay for a different school recently and couldn’t reuse my CA one, and it was just about 10000000000 times better…!

This.
If you’re done with your apps, then be done with them. Go outside. Walk your dog. Learn French.
Stop obsessing.

Haha, I made sure that I didn’t read over my common app essay after I’ve submitted it because I know I’ll end up hating it otherwise. I couldn’t resist the temptation to read over the application itself though; I’ve already found four mistakes:(

I wrote my essay over my insatiable desire to be Robin Hood.
If your essay made sense/ got the point across
and wasn’t filled with really awful errors
then I’m sure you’ll be fine.

After I submitted my essay and read it again
I just felt nauseous because I have read it so many times…

Me! I keep thinking about what I should have added onto it…

I liked mine except for one paragraph could have been phrased better.

I reread it and realised just how much my formatting was off. It was a brilliant idea in theory, but given the week I gave myself to write it, I don’t think I pulled it off as wonderfully as I thought I did when I submitted my applications.

But there’s nothing left to do anyway. And I don’t feel the need to log into the CommonApp anymore. So it’s just waiting from here on out.

Mine is a really dramatic essay, but I’m sure at least one of the adcoms are going to completely miss the point. :P
