Has College Confidential ever come up in school?

Have you ever had a conversation in one of your classes or with your friends about College Confidential? I was surprised how many people in my physics class knew about the website. One boy knew it as "the site where you can check your SAT answers after the test". Others used it as a guide to filling out the Common App. And the general consensus was that most people on CC are ruthlessly seeking admission to the most selective colleges in the nation.

...It's clear why most of my class has been on the site.

Once I made a thread about getting depressed and having a bad term. It got featured, and kids at my school found it and linked to it on a gossip site, where they went through my post history, deduced my real name, and called me crazy. Ever since I’ve been more careful about changing my account name every few weeks.

All the cool kids visit CC.

The cool kids being me.

If chronicfuture transfers here, it so totally is

also on the rumor front, I tried to convince nothing4me to transfer here also

Is Brown already in session?

I was actually joking with a friend on Monday about trying to get another friend of ours to use CC.

Yessir, for two weeks
I still find knowing another CCer to be a physical impossibility

You don’t know anyone on the Brown board?

I always thought the first rule of CC was that you don’t talk about CC.

^ that was a fake rule. It really is sacrifice a lamb to Aero before every standardized test.

^^ They’re all upperclassmen, methinks

What about liz or poseur?

My friends and I talk about it. We generally just make fun of the kids on here, though.

Seems like most of the people on the Brown forum are high school students. That sucks.

^^^ I actually saw Liz once when we were doing the opening convocation thingy
I’ve hired paparazzi to find Poseur, but with no luck :/

^ Most of the posts are chance threads lol

I’ve always wondered if CCers talked about my ‘stupid’ posts.

Anyway, I don’t think people know it exists. Although I have been caught being on CC by my friends (they asked me what website it was, I just shrugged and said it was a forum to talk about HS… kind of true, I was on HSL).

I don’t inform people of this website for their own sake.

Plus, it would be somewhat embarrassing to admit how addicted I am/once was to this forum.

^ False. I would find it awesome to meet a CC addict

Lol, perhaps, but that doesn’t mean that it would be beneficial for the addict.

I wish that this website had a timer that added up how much time each of us has spent on here.

^^ Me too. But we don’t know about non-CCers, they might think we’re college obsessed prestige maniacs?!

^ Haha, the timer would be terrible! My school log-on has a timer for the total time one’s been on for. I’m logged on whilst doing HW and such so I’m over a week.

I actually found my friend’s cc account while wasting time here on cc. I recognized it because she has the same youtube username and I confirmed it was her with the posts she did. It was awkward explaining to her that I wasn’t actually stalking her, but that I found that she commented on one of the threads. She still thinks I’m a creeper. :D

The other day my college counselor said to me, “I hope you’re not reading stupid things like College Confidential,” to which I laughed and told him I did. I had to reassure him that I wasn’t spending hours on it or losing self-esteem from it, lol.

I’ve told my friends I’m on CC, but they are say “Ahhh, CC makes me feel so bad about myself, I can’t handle it.” Haha.
