Has The MBA Become A Worthless Degree?

Well, is it?

Has The MBA Become A Worthless Degree? | LinkedIn

I think this article hits the spot. MBA degrees are getting more popular and there are now more MBAs in the marketplace than ever before, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t valuable. Ignoring the benefits that are received from earning a MBA degree (from Harvard no less) is just short-sighted.

You can earn an [online MBA degree](http://www.ccis.edu/onlinemba/?utm_campaign=FRM001&utm_id=FRM001) for under $30,000, which is a low cost considering people with master’s degrees make about $12,000 more on average per year than those with a bachelor’s degree, according to the [Bureau of Labor Statistics.](http://www.bls.gov/emp/ep_chart_001.htm)

Very interesting stuff!

I think that the word “worthless” is very strong. Also there are many different types of MBAs out there; and just as many diverse people who are looking to earn an MBA. I don’t think the article widens it scope enough to take all (or even most) of these people into account. These types of articles can speculate all they want…but I think it is better to talk to MBA holders themselves and let them talk about the worth of their degree(s) firsthand.

Depends on what school you get it from.

Depends on what you make of it. Only you can determine how valuable it will be.

MBA is as valuable as one wants it to be.

As long as there is a lack of entrepreanuers then MBA’s will be in short demand. The nation still hasn’t figured out as to how to deal with low cost foriegn labor. Until it does, corporate business professionals are in trouble. (along with the rest of the labor force)
