HASS requirements

I was just wondering if anyone could outline how HASS works.
Basically I was just wondering if the classes you take are completely your choice or if there are governed ones. I know we must take 1 from each of H-A-SS but I mean could we completely avoid taking an English class, etc? I just want to take electronic music composition, some psychology, and something from humanities.

Thanks!

There are no “English” classes at MIT, anyway. Literature or writing would probably fit that category, but you can choose options such that you don’t have to take classes in either of those :P

yeah, I was lurking that site when I asked this. I was just trying to make sure all the classes were choice and there wasn’t a set of required ones like for math and physics.

i think all of the GIR’s except the sciences are choice

s w e e t.
