Have a bit of a dilemma on my hands...

Hey guys,

Next year is my junior year in high school, and I am planning on taking an AP Science course. I'm choosing between either AP Chemistry or AP Physics. I have really been wanting to do both, but I recently learned that AP Physics is being divided into 2 years instead of 1. Now AP Science courses take up 2 periods, one for class and one for lab, so I would have to drop an elective (currently planning on taking Robotics, Spanish, and/or Woodshop). I have been taking Woodshop for 2 years now in high school, and figure it would be a waste to switch now. One of my questions is- do colleges still offer the CLEP test for foreign language testing (even at the Ivy level)? My other question is- which of the aforementioned AP Science courses would be ideal to take? If I was to major in a science field it would most likely be Theoretical Physics, so I'm thinking the Physics class would be ideal, but I have recently found a keen interest in Chemistry. I also know the AP Chemistry teacher and she is a great teacher at that, so Chemistry is still a competitor to Physics.

Thanks for all help and info guys.

Ivys won’t accept CLEP. Read this Harvard page about academic preparation, since you mention Ivy. Unfortunately wood shop isn’t a college prep class. Can’t you take Chem now and Physics I sr year?

Sadly I think it’s best to drop the elective and take AP Chemistry now then Physics next year

I meant keeping Spanish…
