My teacher knows someone who is apparently a direct descendant of Mohammed. It was some guy in the army, I think. My teacher had a relative on the Mayflower.....but that seems common on this thread!

Edgar Allan Poe

"My great-great-great grandfather was president Andrew Johnson. Not the greatest president though..."

That's eerie. I'm also related to Johnson. I live in the town in TN where his tailor shop was located (where he ran away to as a young boy from NC).

And as you can tell from my username, that just might be my surname. ;)

my cousin anna has a band that was voted "best new band in colorado" or something. matson jones. yeah.

OTHER THAN THAT!
no.

but my great something or other was a jail cell keeper in the tower of london back in the day. he got to be close to some king or something. haha, vague.

my friend lesley is related to julius caeser and a couple of kings and stuff. that's some pretty cool stuff right there.

hmm my dad wrote a book.

yesss.

haha.

oh and my cousin is a model. hes on the back of the "scene it?" game.

haha.

Guidez, I go to Canada a few times a year, and my dad and my grandmonther live there, and none of us have heard of Francois Morency. lol. Most of the movies that are shown up there are American anyway. :)

one more - a great-aunt invented artificial pectin. does that count for something? :-)

I am related to Johnny Appleseed! :) His really name is John Chapman. That is on my grandmother's side pretty far removed....

jackson17, that reminds me. Prince Hussain Aga-Khan (the direct descendent of Muhammed) graduated from Williams College a few years ago.

Can you imagine that? Going to Williams and lounging in the common room with a Prince... who was Muhammed's descendent, nonetheless...

Since we're on a college forum, I have a question.

Will it help or hinder my acceptance to various colleges, that I am a relative of the famous John Gotti?

I mean, that's pretty cool, but he was a criminal. But then again wouldn't they secretly be afraid of what would happen if they didn't accept me, not that anything would of course, the mafia doesn't care if I go to college.

John Kenneth Galbraith is my first cousin, thrice removed

(thank you Wikipedia!)

Will that help me get into Wharton? I think not. :)

My great-great-billion-greats grandfather (Charles Carroll of Carrolton) signed the Declaration of Independence and was the only Catholic to do so. Kind of cool... Also, my great aunt is cousins with one of the older Kennedys which through Maria Shriver makes me a distant relative of Ahhh-nold.

Cool! You can't go wrong with the governator.

not really.. my uncle (by marraige) played for the Miami Dolphins (and he was in the Ace Ventura movie).

My great great great............grandfather was Kang Xi, a chinese emporer(and the subject of many tacky chinese film series), whose grandmother was a Mongolian princess supposedly decended from Ghengis Khan.

wow guys thats awesome

my grandfather was a secret service agent for the indian prime minister? that's not famous but it's still cool...we have this old black and white pic of him in a black suit with the old guy.

I am pretty sure I am from the line of the Gupta Empire...Err, more recently, my uncle is an Indian journalist/author.

We ALL do...............we are Gods children (young and old) :)

Pretty sure I disowned that character.
