Do any of you wise and experienced folks know of instances where scores really rose after hand scoring? There is a debate elsewhere on CC about this, but I always wonder if there might be some exaggeration in the anecdotal evidence that gets posted on CC. We were amazed when one of S's scores went down in Nov. but never really gave much thought to hand scoring. Is it realistic to think that might result in a different, higher score?

Thanks, all.

Was scanning older pages, and found this post. If it is still useful, I thought I'd let you know that my son requested a hand rescoring as his "in depth" report or whatever it is, said that one of his fill in answers was left blank. This was impossible, as he knows that you don't lose points for guessing, and he distinctly remembered answering the question. Well he asked for hand rescoring, and NO luck! So I doubt it would work at all if you aren't positive a mistake was made.
