Have anyone received provisional admission for fall 2014 from San Jose state?

@CaliGyrl Ah, I see. Congrats! Is that for RN-BSN? Or is transfer different?

@RevOSev i had to apply to the school as a transfer and then get accepted before i could apply to the rn-bsn program. it’s the same for the rn program right? or is it different?

@CaliGyrl I just called the nursing department and they said the orientation is school-sided, nursing only has a workshop for students accepted

So I guess we go by this: http://www.sjsu.edu/aars/transfer_orientation/

@RevOSev yes, it is transfer orientation (for the school). i’m signed up for april 11th. i think the workshop (for the rn program) isn’t until closer to the start of the fall semester.

Phew! Still have a lot of time to pay for that orientation lol! Thanks for the link @CaliGyrl!

@ChrisAstro you’re welcome! :)

Received email today from SJSU College of Engineering Congratulating me. Does that mean I was accepted as Mechanical Engr major and not undeclared?

@clu2014 check your SJSU portal messages

I have been provisionally admitted with an “F” in AP Calculus AB. Will they reject my admission when I send that grade on my final transcript? BTW, I already have enough math credits to meet the A-G course requirements, and I do not need to pass AP Calculus AB to graduate.

sonwukong, they might rescind. You need to call them. A friend’s son got rescinded at SLO for an F in Physics. He didn’t need that course for the A-G requirements either.

Got my packet in the mail. Just did the whole next steps thing online and signed up for the April 11th orientation!

@calla1 Hi I am in a similar situation (provisionally admitted). I have an F in Ochem but I’m a transfer student, will that affect my admission?

@RevOSev, I really don’t know for sure, for either of you. I think you should call the admissions office and ask. All I know is, a D or F after the admission offer is received SOMETIMES can cause the school to rescind. There may be times it does not affect the admission, and the best course of action for you will be to call the admissions office at San Jose. Good luck.

@calla1 Hey, I called this morning and they said for transfer students as long as the F isn’t for a major prequisite or the GE courses, then I’m good to go

Accepted for Electrical Engineering February 13th, Transfer.

Glad to hear it RevOSev.

I got accepted as well for provisional admission. I’m admitted as undeclared pre nursing. Just a thought, would it be possible to talk to someone about a communicative disorders and sciences path? Or am I stuck with pre nursing until later on?

@xoxocindyyy yes you can. I looked into it and we cannot make any changes until the first day of school, and even that is not guaranteed. You should set up advisor meetings and get the ball rolling ASAP

@icykum Oh that’s good to hear. Just recently, I’ve been thinking about a career as a speech therapist. Do you know how to set up advisor meetings?

@xoxocindyyy Yeah here is the contact information. http://www.sjsu.edu/advising/advisor_contact_info/
