Have few questions about sentece correcting problems..

Ok… I have two questions to ask…

Many ancient Eastern rulers favored drinking vessels made of celadon porcelain because of supposedly revealing the presence of poison by cracking.

(D) for it was supposed to reveal that there is poison
(E) because it was supposed to reveal the presence of poison.

0000000000000
I chose D , but the answer was E, what’s wrong with D?

Explaining modern art is impossible, partly because of its complexity but largely because of it rapidly changing.

(B) it makes rapid changes
(C) of the rapidity with which it changes

00000000000000
I chose B but was C I thought C was wordy… so why not B?

For the first one -- D is awkward -- people don't really use "for" for "because" anymore. Also, if "for" is used here, there should be a comma before it.

For the second one -- B doesn't make sense. The art isn't MAKING changes. The art itself is what is changing. C illustrates this concept better than B.

Ohn and C follows the parallelism better by a bit for the second one. Read both again and you'll see what i mean.
