location, its somewhat strong reputation, cheap, easy to get into, the party school thing, I like college football, and a bit more, there’s all kinds of things, ASU is similar.

And are UW Madison and Washington really unlikely, I’m thinking I have at least a somewhat decent shot at each, like 40%-50%, I know Texas is a bit more unlikely

I’d call Washington a high reach. They look at UW GPA only, and it’s much more competitive for OOS students. Your UW GPA is a 3.45 and everyone from my school who got accepted this year had at least a 3.7 UW… those below, including me, were all rejected. Not that it means you have absolutely no shot… I just wouldn’t count on getting in for sure.

Wisconsin is getting harder and harder to get into so I’d call that a high reach with your stats as well.

Oh, and if you’re going to apply to a school in Arizona, I’d choose U of A over ASU.

It might be 25% at Washington, maybe 30-40% at UWMad, and 20% or so at Texas. Just guesses of course, no one can really give you meaningful odds. Washington, for example, accepts over 50% of applicants, but their GPA profile is high, as leila says. Depends on a lot of factors, some of which admissions might not even know quite yet, like the volume and quality of apps from OOS.

The main thing isn’t to worry too much about what CC people think your chances are, but to have a good list of schools that meet your needs and at least a couple of which you are likely to get into and can afford. You have that with LSU already, so just go for it with the others and see what happens. Anything else people say on here is just so many electrons on a screen. If you don’t get into some of the reaches, I am sure it will be somewhat disappointing, but you have some good schools where you will have fun, get a good education, and get to follow big time sports. That’s pretty good.

Thanks that schpeel (In search of a better word) was really helpful

FYI… spiel :)

Just in case you want to use the word again. :)

You should consider Alabama…gorgeous, good academics, good weather, football, great dorms, etc. Bama also has a tier 1 law school…so it’s liberal arts programs are quite strong. You could also get into its popular honors college.

I didn’t know it was an actual word haha

and I’ll look into Bama, I have a friend going there (and another going to Auburn)

I did not know LSU had an auto-admit level. I was simply looking at admission statistics and doing my usual estimate. Thanks for this information.
