Have I left the financial declaration too late? URGENT!!!

So, I got an e-mail from GWU on the 31st of January saying that they need a bank statement to prove that my parents are able to fund my education. Then, in the e-mail it says that if this isn't done within a week, the admissions office will assume that I'm no longer interested in GWU (quite the contrary).

Now it's the 9th and my dad's out of the country (I need his signature and his bank's signature) and I have no idea what to do...

Is it too late to send these documents? Should I call the admissions office?

Thanks

You applied for financial aid, right? You don’t need to prove you can afford GW and if thats the case it may be a scam.

^ No, I didn’t apply for financial aid; that’s why I need to send this form.

It would be entirely appropriate for you to call the admissions office to be guided through this.

This is absurd and I am 90% sure this is a scam, especially trying to get you to act quickly. Contact the school before you do anything.

I think spazman’s situation is a little different if he’s a non-US citizen. Profile says “London”. If that’s the case - GW does require documentation that you and/or your parents can afford this very expensive school.

It’s the same of US students applying to study outside of the US - My “D” wanted to study @ St. Andrew’s and we had to provide a notarized bank statement verifying our ability to pay.

To OP - call both admissions and FA and get the real scoop!
