Have You Chosen Your School Yet?

would love to hear what school you chose - if you have decided.

Deerfield!!! Go Big Green!!!

My DD will be choosing between Deerfield and Exeter I think.

My DS decided on Peddie after the revisit.

Mercersburg! Great revisit day today. What they are doing in the area of learning about and implementing advancements in how to teach so that adolescents learn and grow is so inspiring! The new head of school for next year seems great as well - very smart, engaging, genuine and not arrogant at all. Everyone there just seems happy …

My son is deciding between Deerfield and Exeter.

My daughter chose Governor’s Academy. Yay!

Exeter! Go Big Red! <3

Westminster, Simsbury CT.
We are black! We are gold! We are Westminster!

GoatKid just said Yes to SPS!

@GoatMama Congrats!! Was it a difficult decision? How was L’ville edged out? (In other words, why didn’t you listen to me?) :))

Looking back, it was the first school she interviewed at, and the school that wanted her most, offering her the best scholarship. Was it a difficult choice? After revisiting SPS she asked to cancel the rest of the trip. It was that simple. She found her people and wasn’t interested in spending the rest of the week traveling to other places. They are already following each other on Instagram and Snap-chatting each other as if they’ve been together for God knows how long. I watched them during lunch today (a large group of incoming third-formers who chose to sit together rather than with their parents), laughing and being silly (like eating each other’s food, at a formal event mind you!), and knew then what will happen. She is not an over-sharing child, yet as soon as we got back to the car she wanted to tell me everything about her day. You know a happy person when you see one! So that’s it. Going back for pride wear tomorrow.

After yesterday’s revisit, my son has decided to go to Exeter! GO BIG RED!

It’s a great day to be a Seawolf! Saved the best visit for last. Tabor with a big vacakid smile!

BubbaKid said Yes to SPS and is so pumped up he wishes he could start there tomorrow.

Our daughter decided to go to Taft. She will be in 10th grade and is very excited!

If your choice came down to two woukd love to hear what made your final decision. For us there was never any other close choice so I am curious about those of you who went down to the wire.

For us, we chose the less academic school. It seemed like a bit more room to grow and gain confidence, if this was college, we would have chosen the other. But if he does well at HS, and grows in maturity and confidence, he will choose the harder academics in 4 years. And we believe he will have the same if not better choices in 4 years time, we live in a crazy type A overachieving area. One of the blessings of BS is to get out of that mindset and be a more well rounded kid. Life is a marathon, not a sprint and there will be plenty of opportunities to be stressed out in the next 70+ years.

Andover! Go, Big Blue!
