If so, how serious? Did it cause any permanent effects?

Nope, but I know a girl who has had so many she isn’t even able to golf without worrying her doctor.

17 seconds…

3 Seconds…

your dad’s slapping of your head probably did not cause any (physical) damage. How many times must we go over this?

I was knocked out while boxing. Most peaceful 10 seconds of my life.

^^lol

10char

^^^
No, I had a concussion while skiing in 6th grade that left me unconscious and delirious for a while.

I’m a raging hypochondriac. I worry about EVERYTHING.

But no, one concussion will not do serious damage. You’re fine. If my friend is still alive after five, then one will leave you perfectly fine with no lasting effects.

Wait, all it takes is FIVE to cause such serious effects?

So I’m basically screwed if I get another.

one time I got a concussion from running into a swing

Uhg… all of hers were SEVERE concussions within days/months/weeks of each other. Sports induced and other things like that. It may be more than five now. Trust me, if it was serious, you’d know. You wouldn’t be worrying about a maybe, because there would be no maybe, there would be side-effects that would be perfectly evident.

How much can you really know about yourself if you’ve never had a concussion?

^^
Thanks, that quelled my worries a bit…

One last thing, though… So I didn’t lose ANY potential or intelligence at all, right? What’s so bad about concussions if a couple do no damage?

Sorry for bugging you, but…

Yes, I fell on my head in a bounce house. Sprained my neck and got a concussion.

You did from not eating an optimal diet, from not being raised in an optimal environment, etc. But not from suffering from a couple of concussions, no.

Apparently you also have amnesia since you didn’t realize that you’ve posted this before and CC has a search function…NOW WITH GOOGLE!!!

I swear you have posted this same topic around 5 times. Regarding brain damage.

Seriously, just let go, even IF something happens, its irreversible so just move forward. I feel sorry for you.

^
I feel sorry for me too. Hypochondria sucks. Although I guess it does bring about greater awareness.

One thing to think of that will perhaps help your concerns… you can’t change what has already happened. Just be cautious, but not paranoid… enjoy your life.

Yeah, you’re right. “What if” always sticks around in my head, though.

But if the doctors said I was fine, then they were definitely right, correct? I get the feeling that I know more than them.

“What if” they were wrong? What can you change? All you can do is try to avoid another concussion.

No sense in worrying about spilled milk… just clean it up and be more careful next time.
