"Have you ever used any other name?"

<p>Not sure which section I should put this in but I really need an answer..</p>

<p>I forgot if this was during the college admission/applying process or during the FAFSA/CSS process but there was a question along the lines of "Have you ever used any other name?"</p>

<p>I was born in another country and I had and used the name I was born with until third grade where I started using an English name and stuck with it. But on official documents and all that I still used my birth name. I got it legally changed to the English name that I've been using during my freshman year of high school.</p>

<p>I've been so used to my English name that my mind completely skipped over it when I saw that question. I wouldn't even have remembered until my mom brought it up today. I've already been accepted to my college, committed. Already accepted financial aid packages. </p>

<p>Any idea what my course of action should be now?</p>

<p>You could email the admissions office and ask what to do. I don’t think they’ll care at all, but it never hurts to ask for your peace of mind. </p>

<p>Yeah, just ask. You weren’t trying to commit any kind of fraud and I bet your situation is common. </p>
