Have you interviewed at MSMU, Pomona, or Scripps before?

Hello everyone!

I have three interviews within the next two days at my top 3 schools!

Tomorrow I have a campus tour and interview at Mount Saint Mary’s Los Angeles. Friday I have an interview at Scripps followed by Pomona.

Do you have any tips? I will be bringing along a resume in case the interviewer asks for it. Thanks!

@balletlove97 I interviewed at CMC (one of the Claremonts) after a campus tour. All I can say is be relaxed. The interviewers want to know you, and you want to know them. Remember that there are only a certain number of questions they can possibly ask you. If you don’t know the answer to a question, back up and say “Excuse me, can you repeat that?” to buy yourself more time, or if you absolutely don’t know, just say “Can we come back to it?”. Don’t ever say “I don’t know”. If you don’t know something, just make it up. Never had a big struggle in your high school life? Make one up. Never had a moral conflict? Make one up. After the interview is done, ASK QUESTIONS. Give them your resume if they want it, and ask for their business card in return so you can thank them later.

Generally my kids’ experiences were very positive and relaxed. The types of questions were along the lines of: What classes are you taking, which do you enjoy (or not enjoy). What do you look for in a college? What are your extra curriculars? Make sure you have a “why” answer (Why is that your favorite class? Why do you like that extra curricular? etc.)

Good luck! Claremont is a great place to go to school!
