I applied EA and was deferred and still have yet to reveive a decision. Is anyone else still waiting for a decision? When will I hear from them?

I’m in the same boat. I wonder if any decisions were released today.

I’m still waiting for a decision. Been waiting since September… ugh…

Puremeerkat,

Have you tried contacting the school? And are you a freshman or transfer? I would advise contacting them at this point. Yesterday I did a live chat with a representative from the school and was told that my application would still be under review for “several weeks” before I can receive a decision. I’m a transfer student (over sixty credits), and I was told that they hadn’t received my “current course selection” until March 20th. But, that isn’t true. I submitted that prior to the Feb 1st deadline and it simply wasn’t updated in Wolverine Access until March. Before the deadline I had repeatedly called and was repeatedly told that all the documents I had to have in were in, and that Wolverine Access just takes two to three weeks to update. My hunch is that my course selection was finally updated in Wolverine Access because I had emailed my specific admissions counselor that day with a question regarding test scores, and in the email I mentioned that WA still didn’t reflect the last document I had sent to them months before. Since my documents were faxed over there should be timestamps on them that reflect the true date. Regardless, I was told it’d still be several weeks until a decision is reached.

Is your WA fully updated? And were all the updates put in before the Feb 1st deadline? I would recommend reviewing it and contacting them to check on the status of your application.

Good luck!!

As a side note to anyone who may be considering transferring to U of M: If you are a transfer student who is no longer enrolled in any courses, you would need to submit a letter stating that to the admissions office. Prior to the deadline I asked someone on the phone if I’d still need to send anything in for “current course selection” if I decided not to enroll in any courses during winter semester, and I was told that then they wouldn’t need it. I was not advised to send in any letter or anything else. Being that I have over sixty credits, and take about 9 credits a semester while working full time (I’m 28), I didn’t question it. Yet, I did enroll in a winter semester course and sent in a copy of my schedule before the deadline, but I made the mistake of assuming WA updates were more for my benefit than for admissions. Don’t make the same mistake! And PS: I was also told that no records of phone calls are kept. So, I recommend emailing or chatting so there is a record of the communication.

I actually applied EA and was deferred. Everything is all set and turned in. They did say early April so I’m assuming the latest they can give a decision is Friday the 13th. Mid April begins the 15th but that is a Sunday. I’ll call them tomorrow as they’re closed today. It is annoying having to wait 6 months for a decision though…

Wow, yeah, you’ve had a heck of a long wait. Well, good luck. Hopefully Friday the 13th will bring great things for you!
