University of Michigan Decisions

I was wondering if anyone is still awaiting a decision from the University of Michigan. I am nervious because I haven't heard a thing from them and their deadline to file a deposit is May 1st.

Call the school tomorrow.

I called them on Friday and they said my application is still in review. Do you think I could be waitlisted?

Don't know. Hopefully, you are in. I would call them in a couple of days.

I did not receive a decision either because they think they do not have all materials, and I talk with my application processor because she was out of the office all of last week. I can't straighten out the situation, until I talk with her, so I suppose I will not receive a decision for a while. :(

I'm sorry that sucks. I tried to email my application manager, but she never responded to my email. Who do you have?

Also, do you know what is going to happen to us after the deposit date has passed?

Thanks for your time.

Nate Connor. I called her and her message stated that she would return to her office on Monday. I hope she gives me a call. I left her two messages, and the week before last week I called her every day, but she never answered her phone. Apparently, nobody else can resolve my issue but her, so unless I contact her my application will be incomplete.

I called the Office of Undergrad Admissions last week and they told me that they might not have a decision for me by the end of this month. It sounds like I should get a decision within the week but it might take a little longer. If we're accepted, they will extend the deadline for the deposit. When I got my deferral letter, it said at the bottom of the letter, "if you have any questions, please contact....." and the email address or whatever wasn't printed cause the ink must of ran out or something.

That's sweet about the deposit, but sucks about the letter.

"if you have any questions, please contact....."
I emailed them today and they told me there is still no final decision and they didn't tell me when I could expect a decision. However, they did tell me who my reviewing counselor is, Amber Long. So at least I got some new intel.

I recieved an email on Monday from my counselor, she said:

Dear Steven,

Sorry in the delay of your decision. You will receive your decision by mail in a week at the latest. I am putting it in the mail by friday at the absolute latest. Again, I apologize and if need be we will waive your enrollment deposit due to the late date.

Sincerely,
Cari Rothenberg

Even though this is semi-positive information...i'm still nervious because it's so damn late. What do you think?

Do they normally accept students after the deposit date?

It looks like they do.

The tone of the email sounds like a good one. I guess you could rationalize it either way but I'm hoping that since they could've just rejected/waitlisted us by now, that they're just comparing the final transcripts, weighing the transferrable credit, and making their final acceptances now. By the way, are you in-state?

I am out of state (Seattle Pride!!! haaha, jk.) However, my college is in Boston. What do you mean by comparing the final transcripts?

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I called them earlier this month, and they said they should have a decision by the end of April. Guess that isn't the case :(

Goodluck, I hope you get in. This process is way to nerve racking haha.

I heard a rumor that if you've been accepted/rejected, the University of Michigan takes off the "application is complete" part because they have deleted you off the applicant database, but if you've been deferred/waitlisted they don't take it off because you still remain in the pool of applicants. Just a thing from the rumor mill.

Yeah, I thinks it true. More importantly, if you click on the finaid link and there is some information there, then it probably means you're in (because they wouldn't allocate finaid for someone who hasn't been accepted). Unfortunately for me, nothing has changed yet.
