I am currently on track to major in International Relations. I’m in the first semester of my freshman year, so it’s not too late to rethink anything. I am truly passionate about this major but I know that job prospects and money probably isn’t very good. I suck at math so anything that requires calculus goes down the drain right away. (I passed pre-calc with a 70 because my teacher gave me us a curve…)
I am interested in business, but I’ve heard that business degrees aren’t very good to have either. I want to major in International Relations and minor in something dealing with business or economics. Would this improve my job prospects? Could I double major?
I was seriously thinking of majoring in economics, but the required Calc 2 is terrifying. I also do not have a passion for this and I don’t want to hate my job.
Is it possible to get hired with a degree in IR and a minor in something business-y? In my college, I am free to pick a branch that deals more with business.
I am also thinking of starting my own business someday. So basically, I’m completely confused. Help!!!
