Any truth to this? Does winning a couple of scholarships already make it easier to win more scholarships? Or does it make you a weaker candidate because you've already received money?

For example: two rotary scholarships for $5000, and two science and math scholarships for $700.

should i list or not list those when i apply for future scholarships...?

Our experience so far this year has been that having won a couple of scholarships has made it harder to get more scholarship money - after a couple of local scholarship interviews my daughter came home and said she felt as if she didn't have a chance because of the interviewers reaction when she told them of scholarships already won - sure enough she did not win those. I'm sure it also depends on the size of the scholarships already won.

We are blessed that she has been able to win a couple of pretty decent (college-sponsored) scholarships (although they won't begin the touch the total cost), and I'm sure that local organizations want to "spread it around", so that is fine.

Obviously, if they ask, you need to list scholarships you have already won.

Gosh congrats on your scholarships. We just answered the questions honestly when asked about scholarships...I guess you could lie but that could come back to bite you.
